That's one of the reasons why a lot of people don't like Kloe as a ATS user in this game, and prefer Oliver, or Renne. That will limit her vertaility as a wide-range ATS user. Tio also has 2 water locked on her grid, just like Kloe does. On the other hand, Kloe's Sanctus Nova uses ATS stat, and it's actually a pretty powerful S-craft. Tio's S-Craft doesn't use ATS stat for its damage according to one of the guides I read. It just seems to defy all logic that an orbal staff user wouldn't use ATS as the damage stat for that weapon. Olivier and Schera's S-crafts were great in Sky? Originally posted by iceclaw1000:Tio is a caster, why should her normal attacks not be useless? (although they can actually be decent in Ao for reasons). The best party would be something like Kevin, Richard, Tita, Renne. She's not even a contender for physical attacker role, or 'tank'.

If you need a support caster/buffer, Kevin is better(because he's a CP battery + grail sphere), if you need a mix ATS/STR user, Joshua is better, if you need a full blown ATS user, Renne or Oliver, or even Kloe (Sanctus Nova). The problem for Schera is that there are characters like Renne, Yulia or Oliver who're as good or better in every single one of those categories. Schera, in a nutshell: Above Average ATS, above average grid, mediocre crafts (in the above party lineup), bad S-Crafts, and very mediocre attack. Another character could use a turn to assist one of the OP characters, like someone giving Richard clock up EX, or by buffing Richard or Titas attack, etc. Schera's only gimmick is that she can advance the turn of another character with one of her crafts, but what use would that be when combined with the above party? It's not like she's giving mech mode Tita another turn, or Renne another cast of 'Cyclone Napalm', or Richard another turn whether he needs it or not. And Josette is the worst character in the game. Anelace is worse than Estelle, Mueller is worse than Agate or Zin, and Schera is worse than Oliver, Renne, Joshua, Reis, Kloe or Yulia. It's hard to put a lineup of 4 characters without including at least 1 decent one. Not sure how serious I can thank your other assessments if you write stuff like the above. And that's really close to about the worst performing combat party you could put together in Trails 3rd (IMO). I'd take a party of Anelace, Mueller, Schera and Josette over Zero's lineup. Everyone basically almost in Richard tier in Ao although gameplay-wise only. Zero is like Tita before Orbal Gear, wait until Ao.

I thought the trails games were better, and the cold steel series as well. The most mediocre group of 4 you could put together in Trail's 3rd is probably more effective combat wise than the 4 mains in Zero. Outside of the 'big dude with big weapon' thing. Poor enough to where it's not really an accurate comparison. The red headed guy is basically a really poor man's Agate. She's close to an Oliver + Schera mix with a CP battery craft. It's similar to one of Alisa's crafts from Cold Steel. She's got a CP battery craft as well, which is useful.

ATS almost as high as Tio's and can use a more versatile range of arts. Unlike Kloe's Sanctus Nova, Tio's S-Craft is based on STR, so it's garbage too.Įlie is probably the best character, usefulness wise. The problem is her staff weapon is based on STR not ATS, and her normal attacks are pretty much useless a little bit later on. I couldn't find a comparison to Agate, or Zin, or Joshua, and Tio is worse than any caster character in Trails. But Estelle is actually a little bit better. Lloyd Bannings is basically a copy-paste of Estelle, combat/usefulness wise. And you're limited to pretty much the main 4 characters, outside of a few situations where additional members join you temporarily. The party lineup, like stats/abilities wise is extremely mediocre compared to the lineup you get in Trails.
